How to help
There are several ways you can support our efforts to protect the southern crested grebe…
Donate
All donations directly fund the building and management of floating nest platforms. You will also be supporting the development and delivery of our education programme.
T-shirts: We are selling beautiful Grebe Project T-shirts until 24th November 2024. Get yours by going to: https://www.theprintroom.nz/collections/grebe-project
Pet control
Keeping dogs and cats under control and away from birdlife is a very important way you can support our precious grebe population.
Report
We would appreciate any reporting of pollution or issues such as wildlife harassment or sightings of dead fish or birds. If you find a dead or injured grebe near Lake Wānaka or Hāwea, please contact us immediately.

Plastic removal
If you are walking along the shore of a lake and see some plastic, please pick it up and dispose of it into a rubbish or recycling bin. This prevents plastic from ending up in the water where a grebe could eat it.
